šŸ„‹ You Don’t Need More Motivation — You Need Momentum

Momentum isn’t magic. It’s movement — and it starts with you.

Hello, kickers!

⚔ The Kick Is Here: Discipline > Inspiration

We’ve all been there — waiting for the spark to strike, the motivation to return, the ā€œright timeā€ to finally take action. But in this week’s issue, we’re flipping that script.

Because you don’t need more motivation. You need momentum.

Inside the main article, Nicole Stratychuk breaks down why the most successful school owners aren’t riding waves of inspiration — they’re creating forward motion through small, aligned actions. Plus, we’re diving into this week’s most powerful social insights, a sold-out update from Scottsdale, and a fresh book rec that will shift how you measure progress forever.

Let’s move forward. Even if it’s just one small step today.

šŸœļø IMPAKT Scottsdale Is Officially SOLD OUT

šŸ”„ All seats are claimed. The room is full. And we couldn’t be more excited for what’s about to happen on November 7–8 in Scottsdale.

šŸ„‹ You Don’t Need More Motivation — You Need Momentum

Momentum isn’t magic. It’s movement — and it starts with you.

Hey, I’m Nicole Stratychuk — a martial arts school owner myself, and someone who gets to work alongside school owners across the U.S. and Canada through IMPAKT Mastermind and CORE OS.

And here’s one thing I’ve learned from working with hundreds of school owners:

Most people think they need motivation to get started.
But the truth? Motivation doesn’t create results. Momentum does.

āš”ļø Momentum Over Motivation

The school owners who are winning — the ones growing their schools, developing their teams, and building freedom into their businesses — aren’t waiting to feel motivated.

They act first.
They take the uncomfortable steps.
They have the hard conversations.
They post the content.
They train their team — even on the days they don’t feel like it.

Because they understand this:

Motivation doesn’t create momentum.
Momentum creates motivation.

When you move — even a little — you generate energy.
That energy builds confidence, clarity, and belief.

That’s how champions are made.

šŸ„‹ Think Back to Your White Belt Days

When you first tied that white belt, you didn’t have the skill, confidence, or clarity you have now.
You just showed up.

You practiced the basics again and again — even when it wasn’t exciting.
You stumbled, corrected, refined, and improved.
And before long, showing up became part of who you were.

That’s how you earned your black belt.
Not because you were always motivated—
But because you were disciplined enough to create momentum.

The same truth applies to business.
And fitness.
And life.

You can’t wait for motivation to appear before taking action.
You take action — so motivation can appear.

šŸ‘Š Leadership Starts With You

If we can’t do this ourselves—
If we can’t choose discipline over comfort, or take action when it’s hard—
How can we expect our teams to?

  • How can we ask our instructors to stay consistent when we’re not consistent?

  • How can we teach our students to persevere if we don’t follow through?

  • How can we show our kids what’s possible if we stop when it’s inconvenient?

Here’s the truth:

People don’t follow what we say.
They follow what we do.

Your actions set the tone — in your business, your dojang, and your home.
And when your people see you create momentum instead of waiting for motivation,
They’ll start doing the same.

šŸ’„ One Aligned Action Away

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ā€œunmotivatedā€...
You’re not far from turning it around.
You’re just one small aligned action away.

That might mean:

  • Making one phone call you’ve been avoiding

  • Sending one email to follow up with a lead

  • Spending 10 minutes reviewing your staff meeting plan

  • Walking into the gym even if you only have 20 minutes

It doesn’t have to be massive.
It just has to be movement.

Movement builds momentum.
Momentum builds belief.

🧠 Final Thought

Every great martial artist knows:
Motivation fades. But momentum lasts.

  • Discipline is what gets you started.

  • Momentum is what keeps you going.

  • And consistency — small, steady, aligned actions — is what builds champions.

So next time you catch yourself saying: ā€œI’m just not motivated right nowā€¦ā€

Remember:

You don’t need to feel ready.
You just need to start.

The spark you’re waiting for?
It’s hiding inside your next small action.

šŸ”„ What’s Kickin’ on Social

The Kick’s pick of the hottest headlines in social this week:

This week’s scroll was stacked with wisdom — from financial clarity to personal responsibility, here are the truth bombs that stood out:

šŸ“Š Mike Arce
"Accounting is the language of business."
If you don’t speak it, you’ll never scale it. Money moves when you manage it with precision.
šŸ‘‰ Watch it here

šŸ’Ŗ Josh Dumoulin
ā€œDo the hard things first.ā€
The longer you wait, the heavier they get. Stack discipline early, and momentum does the rest.
šŸ‘‰ Watch it here

šŸ”„ Bedros Keuilian
ā€œIf self-mastery is offensive, then offend them all.ā€
Control your habits. Control your outcomes. Be unapologetically disciplined.
šŸ‘‰ Watch it here

šŸ’” Simon Sinek
ā€œPeople don’t buy what you do. They buy why you do it.ā€
Still selling classes? Or are you selling the mission behind them?
šŸ‘‰ Watch it here

🧠 Dave Kovar
ā€œSelf-discipline develops when you start to do what you say you’re going to do.ā€
That’s how trust is built — with yourself, your team, and your students.

This week’s takeaway:
Don’t wait for things to get easier.
Get better at doing hard things first.
The mindset is the multiplier.

šŸ“š What We’re Reading: The Gap and The Gain by Dan Sullivan & Dr. Benjamin Hardy

Most entrepreneurs measure progress by how far they still have to go.
But what if the key to success—and sanity—is learning to measure backward?

In The Gap and The Gain, strategic coach Dan Sullivan teams up with psychologist Dr. Benjamin Hardy to deliver a powerful mindset shift:
šŸ‘‰ Stop obsessing over what you haven’t achieved…
šŸ‘‰ Start measuring the gain—the progress you’ve already made.

šŸ’” Key Takeaways for School Owners:

āœ… Progress = peace. When you measure backward, you feel momentum.
āœ… Gratitude fuels growth. High performers who focus on the gain burn out less.
āœ… Teams thrive when they’re reminded how far they’ve come—not just how far they need to go.

If you’ve ever felt like no win is ever enough, this book is your reframe.
It’s not about lowering the bar—it’s about raising your perspective.
