🤖 How We’re Actually Using AI in Our Martial Arts School (And Why It’s Not What You Think)

A Behind-the-Scenes Breakdown of the AI Systems Running Our School

Hello, kickers!

🚨 The Kick Is Here: AI Isn’t Coming — It’s Already Running Your Competitors

This week’s edition is all about clarity — the kind you get when you stop fighting the future and start using the tools that make your business faster, sharper, and easier to run. Inside the main article, I’m taking you behind the scenes into exactly how we’re using AI inside our martial arts school right now. Not theory, not tech-bro hype — the real systems that save us 10 to 20 hours a week while actually strengthening the personal connection with our students and families.

You’ll also find this week’s Breakthrough Performance Report, a fresh round of wins from owners running the playbook and getting serious traction. Plus the social posts worth paying attention to, and a book that will punch your thinking in the right direction. All of it designed to help you lead with more speed, more insight, and more leverage — not more stress. Let’s get into it. 👊🔥

🤖 How We’re Actually Using AI in Our Martial Arts School (And Why It’s Not What You Think)

Look, I get it.

Everyone’s either hyped about AI or terrified it’s going to replace them.

And honestly? Both camps are missing the point.

AI isn’t here to replace you. It’s here to replace the stuff that’s been stealing your time, draining your energy, and keeping you stuck as the bottleneck in your own business.

So let me show you exactly how we’re using AI at our martial arts school. Not theory. Not hype. Just what’s actually working right now.

1. Instant Feedback Reports (AKA Your Team Gets Better Without You Standing Over Their Shoulder)

Here’s how this works:

Your staff carries an iPad with them that transcribes the entire intro lesson. Both sides of the conversation. Your team member and the person they’re selling to.

Then AI analyzes everything. It scores them on every single aspect of the tour and the sale. Greeting. Objection handling. Energy. Close rate.

But here’s where it gets really good: It even scores the buyer’s motivation and whether your salesperson is actually helping them stay motivated to buy.

No more guessing if they’re following your system. No more sitting in on every intro to coach them. The AI tells you exactly where they’re strong and where they’re weak.

Imagine having a coach for your team that never sleeps, never gets tired, and always gives objective feedback.

That’s what this is.

2. Email Auto Replies (That Actually Sound Like You)

Someone emails your school.

AI reads it. Knows everything about your brand, your voice, your systems. Writes a reply. Leaves it as a draft.

All you do? Go in, approve it, hit send.

You’re not writing emails from scratch anymore. You’re just quality-checking something that’s already 95 percent done.

And here’s the kicker: it’s in your voice. Not some robotic corporate nonsense. Your actual voice.

Let me ask you something: How many hours a week are you spending on emails that AI could handle in 30 seconds?

3. Marketing and Content Creation (10–15 Minutes to Launch an Event)

We train our Brand Guardian the right way for our school. Every detail. Our values. Our voice. Our systems.

Then when we need to launch an event? Sales page, checkout page, email copy, social posts. All done in 10 to 15 minutes.

First draft is usable. Sometimes it nails it on the first try.

No more spending hours staring at a blank page trying to figure out what to say. No more hiring expensive copywriters who don’t get your brand.

You train it once. Use it forever.

4. Sales Assistant Wizard (Your Objection-Handling Coach)

You just got off the phone with a prospect. Intro didn’t go well. They threw an objection at you and you fumbled it.

Instead of beating yourself up or guessing what you should’ve said, you go to the Sales Assistant Wizard.

You type in: “Parent said they can’t afford it. How should I handle that?”

AI gives you the perfect response based on your systems. Based on what actually works in your business.

It’s like having a sales coach in your pocket 24/7.

5. Graphic Design (Without Hiring a Designer)

Move missions. Magazines. Posters. Flyers.

We create the character and branding in AI. Use that as the forward-facing graphic.

No more waiting days for a designer to send you three versions that still aren’t quite right.

You describe what you want. AI builds it. You tweak it if you need to. Done.

6. Digital CFO (Your Financial Dashboard That Actually Makes Sense)

End of every month, I take my P&Ls and KPIs. Upload them to my virtual CFO.

It gives me a dashboard showing all the trends. Not just from last month, but the entire year.

It grades me on the health of the business. Profitability. Cash flow. All the markers that actually matter.

And then, here’s the part I love: it gives me action steps. Tells me exactly where to put my energy next.

No more drowning in spreadsheets. No more guessing if you’re on track.

You get clarity. Fast.

7. Board of Advisers (Picking the Brains of People You’ll Never Meet)

This one’s wild.

The beautiful thing with AI now is you can literally pick anyone’s brain. Anyone you’ve ever wanted to talk to. You can make it a reality.

So I created a full board of advisers and trained it.

My board? Walt Disney, Alex Hormozi, David Ogilvy, Rory Sutherland, and Charlie Munger.

Here’s how it works: I ask them to weigh in on an idea. I hear them in their voices give me their opinion individually. Then the group debates the entire thing.

I use it for idea filtering. For getting feedback on strategies. For pressure-testing decisions before I make them.

These are people I’ve studied. People I’ve looked up to my entire business life. And now I can tap into their thinking whenever I need it.

Can you imagine having Walt Disney weigh in on your customer experience strategy? Or Charlie Munger challenge your financial assumptions? Or David Ogilvy review your marketing copy?

That’s not a fantasy anymore. That’s just Tuesday for me.

“But Isn’t AI Cheating? Won’t I Lose the Personal Touch?”

Let me challenge your thinking on this.

A lot of people think AI is cheating. Or they’re scared it’s going to make everything feel robotic and impersonal.

Here’s what they’re missing:

AI doesn’t replace you. It amplifies your genius.

Think about it. AI can’t do anything without you training it. It can’t write in your voice without you teaching it your voice. It can’t handle objections the way you would without you showing it your systems.

Without your knowledge, your experience, your wisdom? AI is useless.

What AI actually does is take everything you already know. All those years of trial and error, all those lessons you’ve learned the hard way. And it scales it.

It takes the genius that’s locked up in your head and multiplies it across your business.

You’re not losing the personal connection. You’re extending it to places you physically can’t be.

Your team gets better feedback. Your customers get faster responses. Your marketing sounds exactly like you because you taught it to sound exactly like you.

AI doesn’t make you replaceable. It makes you irreplaceable in more places at once.

So yeah, I use AI. A lot.

And I’m saving 10 to 20 hours a week doing it.

But every single output? It’s still me. My voice. My systems. My genius.

Just amplified.

Here’s What I Want You to See

AI isn’t magic.

It’s not going to fix a broken business or replace the need for leadership.

But if you’re stuck doing the same repetitive tasks every single week (emails, feedback reports, marketing copy, financial analysis) AI can get you unstuck.

It gives you margin. It gives you speed. It gives you clarity.

And when you’re not drowning in the weeds, you can finally step into the role you were always meant to play:

Leading your business instead of being buried in it.

So the question isn’t “Should I use AI?”

The question is: How much longer are you going to keep doing things the hard way?

Mark your calendars for January 1st.

That’s when we’re launching registration for our AI course for business owners.

We’re going to show you exactly how to save 10 to 20 hours per week by putting AI into your business. Without losing the personal connection.

Everything I just showed you? You’ll learn how to build it for your own business.

Your voice. Your systems. Your genius. Just amplified.

More details coming soon.

📖 What We’re Reading: The Bezos Letters by Steve Anderson

If you want a crash course in scaling, innovating, and thinking like a leader who builds empires instead of busywork, The Bezos Letters is a blueprint worth studying. Steve Anderson breaks down the actual shareholder letters Jeff Bezos wrote over two decades and extracts the principles that turned Amazon from a scrappy online bookstore into one of the most dominant companies on the planet.

This book is especially valuable for martial arts school owners who want to operate at a higher strategic level. It’s not about copying Amazon — it’s about borrowing the thinking patterns that made Amazon unstoppable.

Key Takeaways for School Owners:

✅ Obsess over the customer, not the competition. Your growth comes from serving families so well they’d never consider going anywhere else.

✅ Systems beat heroics. Bezos built processes that scale. A school without systems is a school stuck at the owner’s ceiling.

✅ Maintain a “Day One” mindset. Complacency kills. Stay curious, stay scrappy, and keep pushing like you’re still hungry.

✅ Experiment more. Test new offers, new events, new retention plays. Small experiments lead to big breakthroughs.

This isn’t just a business book — it’s a lens for seeing your school as a scalable, durable, high-trust brand instead of a job you happen to own.

📈 Breakthrough Performance Report

This week, we’re spotlighting three powerful campaigns from school owners running with the Breakthrough Advertising system. These aren’t guesses or “feel-good” wins — these are real numbers, real momentum, and real return.

🔥 Amber – Team Martial Arts Livermore
Amber rolled out her refreshed offer plus new ads, and the impact was immediate. Her Cost Per Lead dropped to just $14 over the last 7 days. When your offer and targeting are dialed in, the market responds fast.

🔥 AMA Martial Arts – Black Friday All Month Campaign
Black Friday can be a circus, but AMA turned it into fuel. Their campaign pulled in 11 leads at just $13 each in the last 7 days — a strong showing in a period where ads usually get pricier and more competitive.

🔥 Erik Powell – Black Friday All Month Campaign
Erik’s numbers speak for themselves: $10 leads over the last week. This kind of performance at the end of the month, during heavy ad competition, is a massive indicator that his message and audience alignment are on point.

Let’s build campaigns that turn cold leads into booked appointments — and growth into something predictable.

📬 Have Something That Is Kick Worthy?

We know our readers have great ideas, insights, and stories to share! If you’ve got something that’s "kick-worthy"—whether it’s a success story, a marketing tip, or something that’s helping your school thrive—submit it to us at [email protected]. Your content could be featured in an upcoming edition of The Kick and shared with martial arts school owners around the world!

🔥 That’s a Wrap for This Week!

At the end of the day, the tools don’t make the leader — the leader decides how far the tools can take them. AI isn’t the replacement for your work ethic, your standards, or your leadership. It’s the multiplier. And the school owners who learn to use it with intention are going to move faster, operate cleaner, and make decisions with far more clarity than the ones still trying to outwork yesterday’s problems.

Everything in this issue — the wins in the Breakthrough Performance Report, the posts we highlighted, the book we’re reading, the systems we’re building — all points in the same direction: the next era of martial arts school ownership rewards the operators who stay curious, stay adaptable, and stay committed to sharpening their edge. The question now is the same one I asked in the main article.

How long will you keep doing things the hard way when the smarter path is right in front of you? 👊🔥 #TheKick
